About Consort

Consort is a privately-owned manufacturing company which specialises in vacuum forming and customised casing. Based in Waterford, Ireland in a state-of-the-art 80,000 sq. ft. facility, we make thermoformed plastic components, from high-speed thin gauge packaging to large heavy gauge products. We also manufacture customised carrying cases and foam conversion products to fulfil a wide range of packaging requirements. Established in 1972, we are a second-generation family business with a loyal workforce and client base. Our principles are those of hard work and honesty. We love what we do and we’re good at it.

Our History

  • 1972: Consort was established in Enfield, North London, England
  • 1979: John Kimpton set up the Irish subsidiary in Mooncoin, Co. Kilkenny
  • 2014: Consort secured a large contract with Intel Ireland
  • 2015: Significant investment into thermo-forming machinery and 2 CNC 5 Axis to expand product offering
  • 2016: Achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification and won first medical contract with KCI Medical
  • 2017: Designed and patented a range of fully clean room approved semi-conductor cases to enter US market
  • 2018: Opened a 4000sqm facility to facilitate medical packaging
  • 2022: Large scale investment in second facility including a 6,000sqm expansion. Moved into new fully refurbished 10,000sqm facility. Over €2.5 million investment
  • 2024: Further large-scale investment in machinery and facilities. Opened offices in Hillsboro, Oregon, USA after securing global contract for all Intel’s parts clean cases.

  • We practice basic lean manufacturing standards.
  • We have validation procedures in place for tooling and machine process testing, including pFMEA’s, IQ, OQ, PQ’s.
  • We offer a certificate of conformance on all dispatched goods.
  • We inspect and update all safety aspects of our machines and facilities, as required by the insurance inspectors.
  • We have pest control contracts in place.

We issue safety statements to all employees and review them annually or when deemed necessary.
